About Project
A 12-month calendar full of colorful illustrations of “slice of life” moments between two cats throughout the year. Each illustration connects to the weather, holiday, or just general connotations of the month. Geared towards young and young-at-heart cat fans who like colorful art. Created in Adobe Illustrator with vectors and a heavy focus on shape and color.
Process
I created 5 rough thumbnails for each month, then developed the most effective thumbnail into a cleaned-up sketch and added colors. Once I was happy with the composition and colors of each month, I brought them into Adobe Illustrator and created the final illustration using vectors.
Although I mainly stuck to what I had created already, some changes were made in the transition process; such as the color scheme change in June and the pose change in August. Use the sliders before to see the transition from clean colored sketch to final illustration.
